OKE has many opportunities for you to be involved in as much or as little as you want. We have programs for stay at home parents, working parents and grandparents. These programs are only possible because of parental involvement are run by volunteers like you and I. We encourage you to volunteer any way you can. Volunteering will excite your child, keep them involved in their learning process and encourages pride in our school. 

Art Class Coordinator: Assist art teachers, for example: sorting square art or 5th grade tile orders, responsible for boomerang preparation.

Aussie Auction Chair: Compose auction items in coordination with administration and PTA, responsible for holding auction and bid fulfillments, making sure all aspects of auction are executed appropriately.

Beautification Chair: Assist/suggest items to beautify campus (paint, plants etc.) Responsible for creating an environment that is visually pleasing and welcoming.

Bonzer Bash Chair: Responsible for planning and implementing a fun family/student/teacher oriented carnival, including games, food, prizes, baskets, etc.

Bulletin Board Chair: Design and create main hallway bulletin boards before school start, teachers may request help with grade level hallways during the year.

Council Delegate: Attend Katy ISD council meetings and report back to OKE Executive Board, and hand over any materials to OKE PTA secretary for record keeping.

Eureka Coordinator: Develop and update a participatory K-5 science curriculum on coordination with OKE teaching staff.

Father-Daughter Dance Chair: Plan and execute dance, incl. advertising, ticket sales, theme and decorations, set up and take down etc.

5th Grade Party Coordinator: Responsible for 5th grade T-shirt design, order and sales, reserving venue and holding party, incl. music, favors, food etc.

Fundraising Coordinator: Assist fundraising VP in all efforts regarding OKE fundraising.

Health Chair: Generating and executing ideas for a healthy lifestyle for OKE students and community.

Historian: Take and compile photos into a scrapbook from PTA events throughout the school year.

Homeroom Coordinator: Provide leadership and direction to Grade Level Coordinators and Homeroom Parents.

Hospitality Chair: Feed the heart and the soul of the teachers and administrators through fun events involving food and beverages, incl. on PLC days and the teacher appreciation luncheon.

International Night Chair: Assist ESL with all aspects of International night in coordinating volunteers and the event.

Junior Achievement Liaison: Responsible for setting up volunteers for successful sessions in classrooms incl. BIZ town.

Legislative Liaison: Keep the general membership aware of legislative action.

Library Liaison: Coordinates all volunteer needs for the OKE library.

Meet The Teacher Night Chair: Coordinate all aspects of Meet The Teacher Night in close cooperation with OKE administration.

Mother-Son-Game Night Chair: Plan and execute game night, incl. advertising, ticket sales, theme and decorations, set up and take down etc.

Music Class Coordinator: Assist music teachers, for example musicals and choir.

PR & Communication Chair: Responsible for design and/or assisting in creating communication to parents and students incl. but not limited to emails, flyers and posters. Responsible for approval by PTA president and then administration.

Reflections Chair: Responsible for all aspects of contest, incl. advertising, collecting works of art, juror selection, prizes.

Sister School Chair: Coordinate activities with sister schools.

School Store Chair: Plan and execute store, incl. selection, purchase and sale of merchandise, coordinate volunteers as needed.

School Supplies Chair: Responsible for ordering and selling school supplies according to requests by grade levels.

Special Buddies Chair:  Assist Counselor as needed, incl. parties.

Spirit Sticks Chair: Responsible for the coordination and execution of all Spirit Stick sales, including the annual subscriptions, Valentine subscriptions and monthly Spirit Stick and Smencil sales.  Tasks include purchasing, developing order forms and flyers, filling subscription orders and ensuring that monthly sales are staffed.

Spirit Wear Chair: Design with principal’s approval yearly spirit T-shirt incl. purchase, delivery and sales, plus all additional items to promote OKE spirit through the student body, staff and parents.

VIPS Assistant: Assist VIPS VP in all efforts regarding OKE volunteer needs.

Watch Dog Coordinator: Coordinate Watch Dog Volunteers together with administration, hold kickoff party.

Website Coordinator: Design and manage the account and content of the OKE PTA website, incl. email accounts set up.

Winter Wonderland Chair: Plan and execute the event, incl. advertising, ticket sales, theme and decorations, set up and take down etc.

Wish List Coordinator: Generate and order items according to grade level wish list responsibly with any residual PTA funds at the end of the year.

Workroom Coordinator: Provide copying and laminating services to the teachers and staff as well as scheduling work room volunteers.

Yearbook Chair: Create an annual historic representation of OKE through a hardbound professionally produced Yearbook of pictures and text for sale and distribution among the staff and student body, incl. interactions with year book publishing company, taking photos, scheduling classroom/event photographers, page design, front page contest etc.

Yearbook Coordinator: Assist Yearbook Chair in all aspects of creation of Yearbook.

Youth Protection Chair: Assists counselor with activities related to Red Ribbon Week at the end of October.
